THE NIGHT HAS A FAVORITE.
Black alternative drag. Dark glamour. Sharp wit. A little danger after sundown.
There are people who enter a room, and there are people who change it.
Ray of Darkness brings dark glamour, wit, theatrical instinct and unapologetic alternative energy wherever she performs. Behind the darkness is Raven Woods — a performer, host and trusted part of the Tempt Fête family both beneath the spotlight and behind the curtain.
The persona
Meet Ray of Darkness
Ray of Darkness is the drag persona of Raven Woods, a Black alternative drag queen whose world lives somewhere between dark romance, vampire glamour, queer nightlife and the electric moment when the lights come up onstage. Ray of Darkness brings sharp humor, confidence, sensuality and theatrical presence to performance without losing the connection with the audience in front of her.
Her relationship with Tempt Fête runs deeper than a booking. Raven hosted Tempt Fête's first Anti-Valentine's event and has remained an important part of the creative family ever since. Over time, Ray of Darkness has become one of Tempt Fête's premier recurring drag talents, while Raven has become one of our trusted go-to hosts and an important presence within Artist Relations and Production.
That dual perspective gives Raven something special: she understands what it takes to command the room from the stage and what artists need from the people building the show behind it.

Tempt Fête history
Part of the House
Raven Woods has been part of the Tempt Fête story from its early stages, helping set the tone as a host of our first Anti-Valentine's event. What began onstage developed into a deeper creative relationship built on trust, professionalism, humor and the ability to understand a room.
Today, Tempt Fête considers Ray of Darkness one of our premier recurring drag talents and Raven one of our go-to hosts. Raven is also part of Artist Relations • Production, helping create the kind of performer-centered environment we want artists to encounter whenever they work with us.
Whether she is hosting, performing, judging, supporting talent or helping hold together the energy behind the curtain, Raven has become part of what makes a Tempt Fête room feel like a Tempt Fête room.

Raven Woods — Artist Relations • Production
Raven's presence within Tempt Fête extends beyond the stage. As part of Artist Relations and Production, she helps create a strong bridge between the artists who enter our spaces and the team building the experience around them.
It is performer-centered work rooted in communication, respect, backstage awareness and knowing when an artist needs support — or simply needs room to work.
